Erick Cardoso Costa es licenciado en Ingeniería de Producción por la Universidad Federal de Amazonas. De 2014 a 2017 trabajó como estudiante investigador en el Laboratorio de Investigación - UFAM, Brasil. Actualmente es investigador en el Laboratorio de Mecánica de Precisión - UFSC, Brasil, donde trabaja en su maestría sobre obleas de silicio de grado solar.
