Our life-styles are among the determining factors and precursors for the pattern of development in vogue in contemporary civilization. The young generation-especially students of higher education and the future leaders and decision makers-may opt for changes in their life-styles. Higher educational institutions and their teaching staff members have major responsibilities in shaping the above-mentioned changes directly and/or indirectly. Higher education students should be served wisely in this mission. This would mean the provision of a sound environmental education at university level during which students form and reform their philosophy which will serve them as a context for their decisions and actions during active life and work. An attempt has been carried out to evaluate Environmental Science syllabus of various universities of Maharashtra. Furthermore, comparison of the same for implementing various aspects has been carried out.
