The book is based on a work on structual and functional dynamics of the services provided by the university system under the support of state. Introduction of such services were considered as one of the most innovative interventions planned ever by the University Grants Commission in last three decades of the preceeding millenium. But the movement could perhaps not make the desired impact on both service fronts as well as on the teaching learning process in universities. The most satisfying aspect of such services could be observed in the creation of an interface between the university and community but it simultaneously witnessed efforts by the staff of these organisations to attempt harmonise their structure and functions in line with other faculties of the unversity system at the time when it was rooting well in the system. The attempts made in this book are intended to provide an understanding of the education and services and help encourage others to explore further by generating debate and further reasearch.
