The author has made efforts to collect 60 years statistical data of Pune University and compared it with Western Indian Universities from 2004/2005 to 2008/2009 The author has taken a sneak review of financial management library and its development, present scenario of library funding and its mechanism, use of technology in the libraries, factors influencing libraries in today s scenario followed by the role of libraries.The out put of this research will be useful for resource generation, man-power, resource sharing, and minimize the expenditure of university libraries for better result.

Dr.Lalita Gangurde is presently working as a Librarian in Modern Institute of Business Management affiliated to University of Pune. She has done B.Com from Mumbai University and M.Lib&ISc from University of Pune. Her Ph.D work is well appreciated by academicians. She has attended various National & International Conferences in Lib & ISc.
