In West Belessa woreda (district), there is a concern that, a considerable number of couples are not using contraceptives despite their desire to space and stop childbearing that affect the maternal and child health. In order to limit the fertilty rate by preventing all unwanted births, it is necessary to identify the factors associated with low contraceptive prevalence among those who have positive attitude to regulate their fertility. The purpose of this book is to examine the factors of unmet need for contraception among currently married couples in west Belessa Woreda.The study was designed in such a way that the various demographic, socioeconomic and family planning variables have effects on unmet need for contraception.According to the result of logistic regression, among the variables, number of living children, spousal communication and discussion with health extension workers about family planning methods were found to be significantly affecting couples unmet need for contraception.This book also provides recommendations on use of contraceptives and policy issues that may change the fertilty pattern of the population
