"Unravel the heartthreads / binding me / to this world's weights." The poems in this collection explore the ways the stories we have been told - particularly the stories that underpin and inform our spirituality - can be retold, reimagined, and reworked in light of the experience of women in the twenty-first century. This collection focuses on stories passed down through generations, the rich and varied ways we confront death, and our attempts to reach out into the knotted-up mess of relationships and preconceptions to find what is actually true. Truth needs to be felt, spoken, and shared.
