Historically, the customs of the Uzbek people have been formed through complex processes of integration involving the cultural skills and traditions of all the tribes and peoples that have participated in the formation of the Uzbek nation over the centuries. They are unique, vivid, and diverse. Many customs are related to family life, including childbirth and upbringing (cradle ceremonies, circumcision), marriage (engagement ceremonies, weddings), and are often linked to Islamic customs. Since the acceptance of Islam, many family and domestic customs have changed under its influence, and Muslim religious ceremonies have become part of the lives of Uzbeks.
