The author had travelled widely in the Himalaya especially in the Uttarakhand and Sikkim. He explored some new destinations also. He had the opportunity to come across the local people of the Himalaya in different situations. He tried to depict the beauty of the Himalaya as well as the simplicity of the dwellers of the mountain wherever he went en route to his destinations. Earlier his travelogues were published in The Statesman and other magazines. In this book he compiled all his travelogues so that readers can get a glimpse of nature and the people through the author's eye.
