High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The title UP2U (derived from shorthand for the phrase "up to you") may refer to one of two British children's television programmes, one which aired in the late 1980s and another which aired around 2004. The shows were produced by separate companies, aired on different channels and were generally unrelated, aside from the shared name. The earlier series, listed here as UP2U (BBC TV series), was a Saturday morning magazine show aired on BBC One in late summer 1988 and again in the same period of 1989. The programme was presented by Tony Dortie, Anthea Turner and Jenny Powell. It is notable as the source of a clip - since often replayed on TV clipshows, health-and-safety instruction tapes and YouTube - of an incident in which Turner was set alight by a pyrotechnic display. The show used the name "UP2U" as it allowed viewers to submit suggestions for content and conduct votes to determine which content would be broadcast. The show was produced by BBC North West from Manchester.
