The concept of economic intelligence is more than ever topical and is essential for any country wishing to inscribe its development in the competitiveness and in the duration. The objective of this paper is to show the first steps of the Cameroonian government towards a public policy of economic intelligence. The study of Western models and some African countries in terms of economic intelligence led us to focus our research on industrial upgrading and standardization in Cameroon. The study of these two concepts shows the beginnings of Cameroon towards a public policy of economic intelligence. For they ensure the competitiveness and economic security of the country and allow an action of influence of the latter in the CEMAC sub-region and in Africa.
