Autorenporträt
Even as a young child Joan Sparling Migwans was always conjuring up stories and filling them with colorful characters, sharing them with anyone and everyone who would listen. Since then, she has taught hundreds of children to develop stories of their own. Born in Saskatchewan and raised in Ottawa, Joan's teaching career began in fly-in First Nation communities in Northern Manitoba, followed by thirty years with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Her international teaching experience included two years in Aleppo, Syria, and a year in Sendai, Japan. As the widowed mother of four children, now young adults, Joan is retired from teaching and enjoying writing her own stories. She lives on Manitoulin Island, in Northern Ontario, Canada. This is her first book.
