Matthew Bowman explores the world of a neglected group of American Christians: self-identified liberal evangelicals who sought to reconcile traditional evangelical spirituality with progressive views on social activism and theological questions.
Matthew Bowman received his PhD in American religious history from Georgetown University in 2010, and is the author of multiple articles in the field, particularly on American evangelicalism and Mormonism. He teaches religion at Hampden Sydney College.
