This study examines perceived effect of urbanization on solid waste management in Borama municipality, Borama District. The study focused on three objectives: were to examine the SW generation, SW collection and SW disposal of solid waste management. It guided by Modernization Theory; study was conducted through a cross-sectional survey research design. Data was collected stratified and simple sample of 118 staff worked in Borma municipality, Horseed and Badbado Sanitation Company using questionnaire from March 2020, analyzed using simple linear regression and reported in figures and tables. The study found that urbanization has a significant effect on generation, [F (1,110) = 4.32, p = .047; on collection, do not significant effect [F (1, 110) = .879, p = .351]; and on disposal has significant effect [F (1, 110) = 4.158, p = .044]. The study concluded that urbanization has a significant effect on solid waste management in Borama municipality, Borama District. The study recommends that the Ministry of Environment, Mayors of Districts and other institutions works in developing an urbanization policy for dealing with solid waste management in order to have a clean environment.
