This text focuses on the anatomical, physiological, pathological, and technical aspects of post robotic prostatectomy and post radiation urinary continence and erectile function. This edition has a wider focus than the previous, incorporating radiation, focal therapy, personalized medicine, and medical oncology. It serves as a one-stop shop of pearls on how to maximize functional outcomes in patients undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.
This volume provides a comprehensive insight into the mechanisms responsible for maintaining urinary continence and erectile function and elucidates the key concepts and techniques utilized to achieve early return of urinary continence and erectile function after robotic radical prostatectomy and radiation. It includes a state-of-the art exhaustive review of tips and tricks utilized to achieve the trifecta of cancer control, urinary continence, and erectile function in different clinical scenarios like large prostates, post TURP, and in salvage settings. Authors discuss step-by-step surgical techniques with pre- and post-operative interventions that are known to improve urinary and sexual function. All chapters are written by world-renowned experts in their fields and include extensive illustrations and videos to make this the most interactive and visually appealing text available.
Urinary Continence and Sexual Function After Robotic Prostatectomy, Radiation, and Novel Therapies will be an invaluable addition to every urologist's library. Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Sanjay Razdan, MD, MCh, FRCS (Glasg) Professor and Chair, International Robotic Institute for Prostate Cancer Director and Chief Urologist, Urologic Cancer Surgery Director, Lumenis Center of Excellence for Endourology and Robotics Robotic Prostate Program, Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital Director, Endourology & Robotic Oncology Fellowship Program Larkin University Hospital, Miami, FL Sanjay Razdan, MD, MCh, FRCS (Glasg) is the Professor and Chairman of the International Robotic Institute for Prostate Cancer, a globally recognized state of the art facility, dedicated exclusively to prostate cancer treatment. He is the former Director of the Urology Center of Excellence and the former Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Jackson South Hospital in Miami. As one of the global leaders in robotic prostate surgery for prostate cancer, his series is among the largest by a single surgeon in the World. Dr. Razdan is also one of the pioneers in successfully performing salvage robotic prostate surgery after radiation, high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), and cryoablation failures. He has continually run a successful fellowship program in endourology and robotic urologic oncology for over 15 years and has mentored many young urologists who are in leadership positions in academia and private practice. A pioneering researcher, scientist and oncologic surgeon, Dr. Razdan has numerous ground-breaking innovations and publications in the field of prostate cancer. His technique of maximal urethral length preservation (MULP) has been recognized as a significant predictor of early return of continence after robotic radical prostatectomy (RALP) and was recently shown to preserve penile length post RALP as well. He is also credited with devising an intra-operative physician assigned grading system for nerve preservation during RALP (IOPAG). He was the author of the first textbook devoted solely to the outcomes of robotic prostate surgery published by Springer International in 2016. Shirin Razdan, MD Associate Professor, Miami Robotic Surgery at the Comprehensive Urologic Surgery Institute Robotic Kidney Program, Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital Associate Director, Endourology & Robotic Oncology Fellowship Program Larkin University Hospital, Miami, FL Shirin Razdan, MD is Associate Professor of Miami Robotic Surgery at the Comprehensive Urologic Surgery Institute. She completed residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and subsequently did fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mount Sinai. Her clinical interests are urologic oncology, upper tract reconstructive surgery, and prosthetic urology.
