This book highlights the use of communication in managing human resources and proceeds to pinpoint how communication techniques, principles and practices can be successfully applied to surmount crisis in organisations. It explains with examples how by effective communication between manager and subordinate organisational goals and objectives can be achieved. The flaws of inadequate communication and ways to improve communication in organisation for harmony among employees in order to maximize productivity are the crux of this study. Content analysis of some relevant literature and in-depth interview with management personnel were the method utilized to derive finding for the study. In this study, the researcher investigated the use of communication in managing human resource. The study also highlighted how vested interest, prejudice, suspicion, personal emotion, strain relationship, break in communication channels and absence of feedback could result in ineffective communication and lower human resource moral which would in turn hinder achieving organisational goals and objectives.

Ifedayo Akinwalere specialises in print, minor in Public Relations in Mass Communication. He lectures at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos. He had his Master¿s degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos. He is currently in progress with his Ph.D programme at the Federal University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
