The Amazon has countless plant species with great economic potential, among which fruit trees have stood out for generating income and food for the population. These species are still little studied and their main obstacle is the lack of knowledge about their propagation, such as the araçá-boi (Eugenia stipitata), whose main problem is the dormancy of its seeds. The aim of this study was to carry out biometric characterisation, germination and a study of conventional and modern techniques to assess how to overcome the dormancy of araçá-boi seeds. To this end, three experiments were carried out: 1 - Biometric characterisation, water absorption curve and vigour of araçá-boi seeds; 2 - Osmoconditioning in the germination of araçá-boi seeds and 3 - Biospeckle as an auxiliary tool in determining the viability of araçá-boi seeds.
