The use of renewable energy sources has been intensified around the world in an attempt to mitigate the harmful effects caused to the environment by the burning of fossil fuels. In the Northeast of Brazil, despite the widespread use of cooking gas, the use of firewood as a source of energy for domestic consumption in rural areas is still common practice. However, there are various alternatives for living in the semi-arid region with the aim of guaranteeing better living conditions for the population, including the use of ecological stoves, which present an ecological proposal to reduce the consumption of firewood.
