Er hat einen Abschluss in Bauingenieurwesen von der Bundesuniversität von Paraíba (2000) und einen Master in Agraringenieurwesen im Bereich ländliche Baumaterialien von der Bundesuniversität von Campina Grande (2002). Derzeit promoviert er im Bereich Energie und Umwelt an der Bundesuniversität von Bahia (UFBA) und ist außerordentlicher Professor II an der Bundesuniversität von West-Bahia.
