Autorenporträt
C.S.M. Rademaker ss.cc., member of a Roman-Catholic missionary congregation and a priest, studied philosophy, theology, music and history. He was a teacher of music and history at secondary schools (1961-1971) and Assistant Professor for the history of humanism at the University of Amsterdam (1971-1979). After that he held several ecclesiastical and monastical managerial positions. From 1967 onwards he is closely associated with the edition of the Erasmi Opera Omnia. André Godin, French historian and theologian, honorary director at the CNRS (Paris) taught history of religion and patristics and was a researcher at the CNRS. From 1992 to 1997 he was responsible for the Centre of European Religious Anthropology at the EHESS. Among his publications are L'Homéliaire de Jean Vitrier (1971) and Erasme lecteur d'Origène (1982). In 2013 his Erasme Vie de Saint Jérôme: Text, Translation and Commentary will be published. Emily Kearns teaches Greek literature and language at St Hilda's. Her main area of research is Greek religion, but she has also written on Homer, Greek tragedy and Renaissance Latin. She is the author of The Heroes of Attica and editor (with Simon Price) of The Oxford Dictionary of Classical Myth and Religion, and is currently preparing a sourcebook on religion in archaic and classical Greece.
