Autorenporträt
Steven Sy was born and raised in Quezon City, Philippines, but traded in one sunny, tropical country for another, moving to Singapore to study anthropology at Yale-NUS College. His fascination with epic fantasy began with The Lord of the Rings and The Elder Scrolls series, and he continues to be obsessed with how made-up worlds can make people see the real one in new ways. He also dabbles in playwriting and is the co-creator of Tiwala, a musical about faith and community set in provincial Philippines. He dreams of being a creative writing teacher one day in an apartment with many dogs and his partner. Vacant Steppes is his first novel.
