Västgötska (or in english "Westgothian") is a Swedish dialect spoken primarily in the Western Swedish province of Västergötland. Västgötska is a variant of the götamål dialect, with several important changes. The dialect is characterized by its usual omission of the last letter (usually-r or-s), and that it is based primarily on the "ø" and " " sounds. There are other notable variations, as well. The dialect changes l to r as the "chair", such that "stolen" becomes "stor''n" (which would in English be somewhat like saying "chairn" ). There is a contraction of "-dk-" creating the ch-sound, as in the name of the town Lidköping, which is pronounced Lichöping by the Westgothings.
