The aim of this study is to valorize Hyptis suaveolens (Lamiaceae) and Lippia multiflora (Verbenaceae), two aromatic plants of the Ivorian pharmacopeia. To do so, the animicrobial potential of different leaf extracts of these two plants was determined. The most effective extract was used for the conservation of smoked fish. The antimicrobial activity of the extracts was determined by the Muller-Hinton solid diffusion and liquid dilution methods. The antibacterial tests carried out with the essential oil of Lippia multiflora allowed to obtain zones of inhibition of the bacterial growth varying…mehr

The antibacterial tests carried out with the essential oil of Lippia multiflora allowed to obtain zones of inhibition of the bacterial growth varying from 0 to 30 mm on the whole of the strains with MIC going from 0,9 to 3,7 mg/mL. The antifungal tests allowed to obtain percentages of inhibition of the fungal growth going from 10 to 100 % on the whole of the tested strains for. The preservation test of smoked fish with the essential oil of Lippia multiflora leaves showed that the addition of 0.50 mL of this extract preserves the safety of70 g of fish for four days.
