Der Autor hat lange Zeit Biologie und Chemie unterrichtet und nach einem Zweitstudium in den Sozialwissenschaften und Psychologie seine Doktorarbeit zu einem didaktischen Thema angefertigt. Nach der Zeit im aktiven Schuldienst führte Harmut Michael Möltgen noch einige Jahre lang einen Gastronomiebetrieb mit kulturellen Events (Lesungen, Musikabende und Ausstellungen bildender Künstler). Aktuell widmet sich der Autor sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Fragestellungen. Nach "Superfaktor Geld" und "Wertfaktor Wissen" ist "Basisfaktor Arbeit und Humankapital" die dritte Veröffentlichung des Autors im novum Verlag.
