He is a proud recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the State of North Carolina's highest civilian honor. His previous novels, The Eno Club and Burnt, have not been international bestsellers nor was his collection of short stories, Vanessa. Hope springs eternal.He lives in Pinehurst, North Carolina, with his wife, Lisa.
