The book revealed vegetative propagation methods that are good for the regeneration of Adansonia digitata, Balanites aegyptiaca and Parkia biglobosa which form part of the most important tree species in the tropics. Juvenile stem cuttings were obtained and treated with indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) at different concentrations. The treated cuttings were planted in different rooting media (sawdust, top soil and river sand) to establish appropriate method of propagation. Effect of growth hormones and rooting media was assessed and analyzed and the treatments that were found to be the most effective were recommended as a means of vegetative regeneration of these important tree species for sustainable management and utilization.
