The book presents the beginning and studies on vermiculture, the farming of earthworms, in the Philippines for verimicompost and vermimeal production and on earthworms as a source of medicine and food. Practical processes for the production of vermicompost as an organic fertilizer and vermimeal as a substitute for fishmeal in poultry, fish and shrimp feeds are discussed. The development of the vermicomposting industry and application of the technologies by thousands of small and large-scale operators in the country are highlighted.
