Zulfikar Ghose was born in Sialkot (now in Pakistan) and spent a couple of decades in England before moving to the United States, where he teaches at the University of Texas in Austin. He is the author of ten novels, five books of poetry and four books of criticism and an autobiography written in his twenties. His work has been translated into many languages.
