Immunity, in general, is defense mechanism of an organism to protect it in the habitat. It is interesting to study this defense mechanism in non mammals which provide a pivotal insight to the evolutionary history of this mechanism. Reptiles are crucial phylogenic group that gave rise the birds and mammals hence it becomes important to study these animals. Knowledge of immune function and endocrine system will enable us to develop conservation strategies to these animals. Knowledge of immune function and endocrine system will enable us to develop conservation strategies to these animals. The rapid decline in the number of organisms has posed a major threat to our biodiversity. Conservation strategies to these non mammals will help sustain the very existence of our planet.
