Vesiculobullous disorders represent a heterogeneous group of dermatoses with protean manifestations. Vesiculobullous diseases are a distinct group of oral disorders characterized by the formation of vesicles or bullae. Clinicians must bear in mind that it is uncommon to see a vesicle or a bulla intraorally, as they soon rupture, leaving erosions or ulcers. This group includes viral diseases, autoimmune mucocutaneous diseases that probably have an immunologically mediated mechanism, and genetic diseases. In recent years, disorders have been the topic of extensive research. The diagnosis of vesiculobullous disease should be made on clinical, histopathological, and immunological grounds. Here we will discuss the various types of vesiculobullous lesions, pathogenesis, clinical features, investigation techniques, and the treatment aspects.
