The Rogues' Gallery contains 200 photographs of some of the prisoners held in Gloucester Gaol between 1870 and 1906. The originals are to be found in three albums held at Gloucestershire Record Office. Elizabeth Jack recorded the main details of each prisoner and copied the photographs, many of which were in poor condition, mainly to preserve them for future generations. Most of the inmates were from Gloucestershire but others were from as far afield as Canada, America, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, and Malta as well as all over the British Isles.
