Produktbeschreibung
Radio-telemetry is a technology of radio-signals recording from chronically implanted radio-transmitters to investigate less invasively physiological parameters from freely moving animals. Video image is a methodology to capture behavioural patterns; dedicated software-hardware systems allow quantitative and qualitative measure of behavioural activities using automatic video tracking technologies. This research aim was the use of a new Video-Telemetry EEG Model in rat to firstly analyze the relation between environmental conditions, behavioural/sleep pattern and theta activity and consequently stress the importance of the test conditions and of the routine laboratory procedures on the reliability and repeatability of experimentation. Then the relation between seizures and convulsions (EEGs traces versus behavioural observations) has been taken into account to demonstrate the importance of performing EEG radio-telemetry combined with synchronised video monitoring. Finally the technical feasibility of a Video-telemetry EEG/sequential blood bleeding integrated system to be used in pre-clinical PK/PD investigations of drug-induced convulsions or seizures has been investigated.
