The present work entitled " svaracandra Vidyasagara's Role In The Revival Of Sanskritic learning Of Bengal (1845 - 1891 A.D.)" has been prepared for the Ph. D. degree in Sanskrit at the Rabindra Bharati University. The research project tries to represent Vidyasagara's efforts for the revival of Sanskritic learning of Bengal.I grew interested in Vidyasagara's contribution to Sanskrit learning, when I was a student of B.A. (Honours) at Midnapore College under Vidyasagar University. I came closer with Prof. Gopalchandra Misra during my M.A. class in University of Calcutta. He has inspired me a lot to undertake the research project and I like to convey my deep regards to Prof. Misra for his guidance and hard labour to materialize the project.I also like to show my respect to my parents - Dipali Chakravortti and Sukumar Chakravortti,brother - Sandip Chakravorrti,my beloved wife - Soma Chakravortti and my little daughter - SOMADIPTI (SAUMI).
