The emergence of Christian schools in the United States coincided with the evolution of laws regulating special education. Because of their private status, most Christian schools do not fall under the same federal and state laws as do public schools; thus, they may not have formal programs for students with special needs. Yet,these students often seek and gain entrance to such schools. This book examines the experiences of teachers in a particular Christian school in meeting the needs of struggling students. The instructional strategies used for two boys with low achievement are reviewed in light of Biblical mandates and of scientifically-based methods. The results are intended to enable all educators, as well as those in Christian schools, to apply relevant outcomes to their own situations.
