Vinson Robert Smith (born July 3, 1965 in Statesville, North Carolina) is a former American football linebacker, who spent 12 years in the National Football League after graduating from East Carolina University. Smith won one Super Bowl as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He is currently the head coach of the Piedmont Paladins. Smith was a standout for Statesville High School before graduating and attending East Carolina University. Undrafted, Smith started out with the Atlanta Falcons in 1988, and played with the Pittsburgh Steelers before landing with the Dallas Cowboys in 1990.
