Author Deanna L. Tribe is a native of Vinton County, her father having sawed the timber and built the house in which she was born in Richland Township. A retired community development specialist and associate professor emerita at Ohio State University Extension, Tribe continues her interest in the people and places of Ohio Appalachia.
