Climb aboard the bus and share Viola's best bad day to discover just how much difference a day can make! For the very first time, Viola did not have a friend sharing the seat on the bus ride to school. Yesterday was filled with disappointments. Why did friends have to move away and why did her parents have to ask some mean old man permission to spend their own money? They were grown-ups, not children. When she grew up she would not ask anyone, if she wanted to take a trip she would just go. At least things couldn't get any worse. Well . . ? Viola finds out what a difference a day can make and that things are never as bad as they may seem. One day things are not looking so good for Viola, it's almost summer and her best friend has moved away. Hearing her mom and dad in the kitchen talking about money, the broken tractor, how Mr. Budget is cranky, and she may not get to go on vacation. The next day her lonely bus ride becomes a complete round-up. Arriving at school late things really get interesting and Viola's life will never be the same. Can Captain No-Sorrow save Viola's day and possibly her vacation? From Chapter 1: Viola was very grumpy as she crawled into bed, she didn't even ask to read a book she just wanted to go to sleep instead. In Montana when you can't sleep you count cattle you don't count sheep and this may sound really absurd by morning Viola had counted an entire herd!
