In this work, the meaning of taboos, different types of taboos and the possible reasons for their institution were highlighted. Chapter three clearly brought out the methods used to make the study a reality. In chapter four, the data collected, were analyzed. Here, the lists of the four different types of taboos were shown. In the analysis also, the possible reasons for institution of these taboos, the extent of violation among men, and among women, causes of violation and the sociopolitical consequences of the violation, were exposed. The study was rounded off with summary, suggestions and conclusion in the last chapter.
