Disguised as an alphabet book, Viral Vocabulary is an accounting of COVID-19 Pandemic. "Can we please just get back to normal life?" How often was this spoken or heard in 2020? Before too long, experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic would be long forgotten. Viral Vocabulary describes for us creatively life with the novel corona virus in the United States. The time is described colorfully in words and images of America from A to Z. The authors and illustrator describe and sketch heroes and villains, their good practices and bad. Scientific terms are explained and the new COVID-19 terminology bantered about, is included. This is done within a story of grandparents visiting their grandsons, years after the pandemic has ended. During the pandemic things were confusing at best; we looked to our leaders for wisdom and direction. Thought-provoking quotes, from the past and present, are included to speak to the concepts described. The book was written for children but all should enjoy the reading experience and learn the basics about the pandemic. We hope you'll find Viral Vocabulary, An Illustrated Look at the Language of the COVID-19 Pandemic to be a pleasant reminder of a very rough time in our history.

Autorenporträt
Emily Pogers lives with her husband in a Connecticut lake community. She enjoys reading-alone, with grandkids or with children in a nearby elementary school. She is retired from a career in medical product development-pharmaceuticals and instrumentation. COVID-19 related 'stay at home' orders eliminated her usual pursuits. Emily suggested using the time to connect virtually with family while learning self-publishing in a creative collaborative effort. Emily is Dory's mom. Our result is 'Viral Vocabulary.'
