The present work deals with the challenges faced by the tutor who acts as a mediator in Distance Education (DE) and his necessary ethical conduct to deal with the possible problems encountered. The motivating reflection is that ethics must permeate all human relationships. The conduct of the tutor is a key part in this process, as it is up to him to demonstrate and ensure: loyalty in the group, professionalism, dedication in activities, common sense. In addition to constantly improving in their area of knowledge and in the use of new technologies available, the tutor must internalise ethical principles, aiming to establish a relationship of empathy and mutual cooperation, subsidies of a full and citizen education.
