Efrosini Sardelis Malavakis is a Greek-American, first generation born in Washington, D.C. She was raised by her parents who came to The United States from Athens, Greece in 1955. From a very young age, she had a relationship with God. She attended the Reverend Thomas Daniels Greek Parochial School in Washington, D.C. The author has an extraordinary brother. Though her father passed away, she has a great relationship with her mother.

She and her wonderful husband, have two daughters and three grandsons.
