Brenda Montecalvo, OD, FCOVD, FAAO, FCSO, is a passionate, sought-after international speaker. As a doctor of optometry, she specializes in vision therapy and coaches students of all ages on how to become successful in school. With a strong desire to change lives, Dr. Montecalvo uses her knowledge and ability to help her patients to be more efficient learners. She graduated with distinction from the Pacific University College of Optometry, and has provided primary care optometry in a successful private practice setting for over 35 years. Dr. Montecalvo presents the Cedarville Seminars for Optometric Vision Therapy (OVT), and teaches her Visual Secrets for School Success to international audiences. She also lectures in the areas of Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation (NOR), strabismus, amblyopia, OVT, prescribing of therapeutic performance lenses, preventive eye care, and Practice Management (PM). She is a co-author of the American Optometric Association (AOA) Brain Injury Electronic Resource Manual, and has authored articles about NOR, OVT and PM. Dr. Montecalvo is Past Chair of the AOA Vision Rehabilitation Section, and is a member of the AOA Education Committee. She is Past President of the Ohio Optometric Association, Past President of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), Co-Chair of the John Streff Invitational Lens Symposium, and trustee of the Vision Leads Foundation. She has been a Clinical Associate Professor for the Western College of Optometry and for The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Montecalvo is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the College of Syntonic Optometry, and has achieved Skill Level II in NORA. Dr. Montecalvo's interests include enjoying time with her three adult children, being active in her church, gardening, and operating a horse farm with her husband Anthony.
