The process started as a short play that would be put on for the student body as well as parents of the ensemble. Instead one call to the New York Times and it became a nationwide controversy. The play was banned from the high school because it was deemed sensational and inappropriate. It started out as an idea with the Spring Semester of the Theatre Arts II Class which was under the teaching over Bonnie Dickinson.
