Voices in the Dark is just that, a dark and dangerous look into the world of mental illness and living with a long term mental health condition. The collection follows the journey of illness through the twists and turns and endless cycles of despair before reaching a more positive and hopeful outlook towards its end. The book hopes to challenge a breadth of topics and looks at the frightening nature of anxiety, depression and psychosis from a personal and poignant perspective. Baudin's repetitive rhymes and rhythms demonstrate the unyielding nature of the conditions themselves whilst offering air of comfort and ease of reading. The poetry, however dark, is written in the hope of bringing light to the issues raised, further understanding of the realities of living with complex mental health issues and insight to anyone who reads it.
