Derrick Jensen wird oft als Philosoph und Poet der Umweltbewegung bezeichnet und ist Autor von mehr als 25 Büchern, darunter Endgame und A Language Older Than Words. Er hat einen Abschluss in kreativem Schreiben von der Eastern Washington University, einen Abschluss in Mineral Engineering Physics der Colorado School of Mines und unterrichtete an der Eastern Washington University und dem Pelican Bay State Prison kreatives Schreiben.
