This poignant cycle of poems by Jenny Hill, with a Foreword by General the Lord Dannatt GCB CBE MC DL, commemorates those who perished in the Great War, 1914-1918. It is inspired by a series of podcasts by the Imperial War Museum in connection with the First World War Centenary Partnership, 2014-2018. There is a poem for each of the podcasts, which totalled 48 at the time of writing, plus a closing poem of grief and reconciliation. The poems are illustrated by a series of sparse, haunting images from the pen of Ian Clark.

Autorenporträt
I wasn't unlike you: I wasn't gifted with supreme genetics that allows some people to eat whatever they want. I was never into sports and never enjoyed spending my free time while hiking, swimming, or doing any other sporty activity. My work didn't support me either - sitting on an office chair the whole day doesn't burn too many calories... But that didn't bother me until about 3 years ago. At that time, I reached the peak of my body weight. I gained 36 pounds after giving birth to my second child. And walking around being over 200 pounds wasn't fun. I had to do something! As a mother of 2 children and a full-time entrepreneur, I didn't have too much time to explore different diet fields and exercise programs. I have tried a couple of different diets before, but the results were always disappointing. And I didn't want to go through another hunger and exhaustion period in my life just to lose a couple of pounds. I needed something else. Something more sustainable and more beneficial to my health. And that's where Intermittent Fasting came into my daily life. At first, all I cared about was losing those 36 pounds that I gained. But once I lost them, and even more, I became much more health-conscious and realized that weight is not the only issue. Now, for more than 5 years, I have been learning, researching, and teaching others about this fascinating lifestyle of Intermittent Fasting. Just recently, I found my new passion for writing and book publishing - an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with more people around the world. And help them achieve the body and health of their dreams. Hopefully, you are going to learn a lot and use that knowledge to make your life better!
