Can a marginalized, neuroatypical girl make a difference? Victoriya lives within the Highly Functioning Autistic Spectrum; but what some consider a puzzling thing actually grants her unique gifts that'll help her save humanity. That is, if humanity can be saved. As the daughter of space and nuclear scientists involved in sending the first lander with humans to Mars, she's very aware of and embroiled in current issues plaguing humanity, foremost among them being the TITAN project, which finally ended global warming. Her parents were principal scientists on TITAN, the massive orbital designed to save the planet. It worked... but with consequences no one saw coming. Earth's orbit is slipping further from the sun, caused by a decrease in mass-TITAN's unintended effect on the delicate balance of the solar system. Time is running out before earth falls into a hyper freeze that will render the planet uninhabitable. Viktoriya will give her best to save us all, but unknown and known dangers press close. She must overcome unique challenges, battle attacking aliens, and learn that sometimes the enemy closest to you is the most dangerous of all. With the world on the edge of collapse due to unintended consequences of human behavior and a healthy dose of bad luck, one young woman will change the course of history in more ways than one. Viktoriya is the last hope of a world on the very edge of its final ice age.

Autorenporträt
Hello, I'm R.C. Kirkland! I am 54 years old and live in Jacksonville, Florida, on the neuroatypical High Functioning Autistic spectrum. I have been a science fiction fan for as long as I can remember, and Voodoo Child is my debut novel as a new sci-fi author. Book One is my introduction to Viktoriya, a HFA unexpected heroine. I couldn't find any autistic heroes during my life, so I decided it was time for a 'hero for the rest of us'! This is the first in a planned series of 5 books.
