Voss CEO Knut Brundtland and his wife, the art historian Cecilie Malm Brundtland, were inspired to found the organization after a trip to Africa where they were struck by the magnitude of the water crisis. When they returned to their native Norway, they immediately reached out to Voss' headquarters in New York and began the process of starting a foundation. Brundtland currently serves as the Foundation's Board President and his wife is now one of two European Representatives.
