Democracy is a form of government where people are ruled directly or indirectly. However, Nigeria's culture of the democratic system seems disturbing, because of electoral malpractices which make the winners not the real choice of the people. Such has greatly affected voting behaviour and orientation of the people. In a bid, to determined what prompts people to vote despite obvious irregularities, Osun and Ekiti State 2018 Gubernatorial elections were examined as a guide of Nigeria's elections. The study adopted mixed methods of quantitative and qualitative research. The study, therefore, recommended that violence should be reduced in elections, the entire electoral process should be computerized, internal party democracy should be practiced, punitive measures should be adopted on electoral violators. This will improve people's voting behaviour towards achieving better democratic dividends.
