Vu Hoang Tran (born 1975 Saigon, Vietnam) is a Vietnamese American short story writer.He was born in Saigon, Vietnam in 1975 and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Tulsa with an MA, from the Iowa Writers'' Workshop with an MFA, and from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a Shaeffer Fellow with a Ph.D.His work has appeared in the Southern Review, Glimmer Train Stories, Harvard Review, Fence, Michigan Quarterly Review, Nimrod, Interim, and Antioch Review. His first novel is forthcoming from W.W. Norton & Company.He teaches at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
