After high school, Williams planned to take pre-med coursework at the University of Tulsa (TU). His interest in music and drama never waned and eventually he changed career paths. Williams completed his bachelor''s degree in theatrical studies at TU and later obtained a Master of Fine Arts in acting from the Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts, where he studied under William Esper. Williams lives in Texas with his wife and daughter. While at the University of Tulsa he starred in the play "Sweeney Todd".
